Welcome to Pilates Tailors, here is a quick introduction to our team of fully trained pilates instructors.

emma douka


Emma Douka is an experienced Pilates teacher based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordfordshire, who discovered the power of Pilates during her university years while struggling with persistent back and neck pain. Her journey of rehabilitation through thoughtful movement led her to train with the UK Pilates Foundation and Anne-Marie Zulkahary, and she has been teaching since 2010.

In 2018, Emma qualified as a Feldenkrais Practitioner and has since incorporated both methods into her daily classes. Her teaching approach is based on the belief that the body is a whole, including the brain and nervous system, and she aims to help her clients sense and understand their bodies, move efficiently, and gain strength.

Apart from teaching and studying movement, Emma enjoys the outdoors, particularly long and hilly bike rides. Trust Emma to guide you towards a stronger and more efficient body through her thoughtful and holistic teaching approach.

Matt is a dedicated Pilates instructor with a strong passion for helping people achieve optimal physical health and well-being. He completed the comprehensive program at Fletcher Pilates and has a deep understanding of the human body and how it moves. Matt is committed to sharing his knowledge with others who are seeking to move better and live a healthier life.

With experience working with people of all ages and abilities, Matt has developed a special interest in helping those with neurological conditions and mobility issues. He takes a personalized approach to each client, tailoring his instruction to their unique needs and goals.

During this session, you’ll get a chance to learn about the equipment and its various components. Our instructors will work with you to assess your current fitness level and create a personalized workout plan that fits your goals and needs. Whether you’re looking to build strength, increase flexibility, or improve your overall fitness, we’ve got you covered.
